iTown #1 Boroughbridge

Here are just some of the issues raised in Bedale. Check out the podcasts, videos and photos for this group below:

Where to go? What to do?
Many teenagers thought that their town was boring after school. They felt that there were not many places to go in boroughbridge so they reosrted to 'hanging out' at the Spar, the bandstand, shop doorways and anywhere else they could find.

Troublemaker? Me?
Many of our group were unaware that simple things like not looking before crossing the road, taking up the whole pavement as a group, and mucking about in the town could be seen as intimidating by adults of the local area

A sporting chance
Many of our group had said that there were not enough sports teams, that there was not a local youth or girls football team, no gym, no cricket team, and no main swimming pool in the town.

Safe at Night
The general opinion was that Boroughbridge was very safe. The group agreed that CCTV cameras were actually helpful as they realised that not only do they stop people from causing trouble, they also help to keep them safe. Girls had said that they sometimes felt unsafe at night as town was right next to a main through route.
