 The
'Podcast' became the popular name for
files downloaded then played on an Apple
iPod. Podcasting is a method of publishing
files to the Internet, used largely
for audio files, podcasts can also contain
images and video.
To create our iTown Podcasts, we first need to create various files that can be used to put a podcast together. For example we will need to create sound files, record video, take photographs, and write a script so that we know what we are going to say.
Once we have decided on a subject we
then take photographs and create sounds
to put in our podcast. Once we have
created our individual files, we put
them together using a piece of software
called 'garage band'. This software
then allows us to add sounds and background
music to link our broadcasts together,
then exports the final file as a podcast.

Taking place over a rainy weekend, our Bedale group used video and podcast radio shows to tackle subjects such as shopping, traffic congestion, unfair fares, the lack of facilities, such as internet cafes and cinemas. 
Our Grimbsby group spent a weekend creating radio shows and videos about youth space, vandalism, environmental issues, and the town's football team. 
The group in Scunthorpe chose to discuss the new sports facilities coming to the town, challenges facing up and coming musicians, graffiti, and the lack of town identity.
